Administrators at DeVry University needed to ensure that staff members at their campuses across the United States and Canada understood the institution’s policies and interpreted them the same way.

They used a method and product from Information Mapping® to rewrite the policies to make them more readable. The new format includes a consistent look for each page. And the policies are presented using bullet points and charts.

The new format means that users can comprehend the policies much more quickly.

A large majority of users liked the new format better and felt more confident about the information they got from using it. And when some complained about policy changes, they learned that the policies had not changed. Instead, the new format made clear what the policies were.
