Dean & Provost surveyed academic administrators across the United States, Canada and the Caribbean about their experiences with creating plans for prioritizing academic programs and with eliminating programs at their institutions.
From the 70 responses to our informal,e-mail poll, we learned the factors survey-takers considered most important in creating a prioritization plan. Plus, those who had gone through the process of creating a plan shared their best advice for making that process go smoothly.
Survey results also revealed how many institutions have eliminated programs and how many programs those institutions cut. Review what steps respondents took before ending programs and their top “dos” and “don’ts” for putting an academic prioritization plan into action.
